Child and Family Services Act – Five Year Review
The Child and Family Services Act (CFSA), brought into force in 2010, requires the “operation of the Act” to be reviewed every five years by an advisory committee established by the Minister. The review includes the operation of the Act and whether the purposes and principles outlined in the Act are being achieved.
The review of the Child and Family Services Act is underway, and the Independent Advisory Committee would like to hear from you.

Advisory Committee
Mo Caley-Verdonk - Chair, Ray Sydney - Deputy Chair, Doris Anderson, Debbie Hoffman, Lori Duncan and Rose Rowlands were appointed to the Committee in May 2018. The Committee held their first meeting in June 2018.
Commitment to review
Minister Frost has committed publicly to an independent review that is broad and thorough. We will look at the legislation, programs and policies that shape how child welfare services are delivered. We will listen carefully and hear everyone’s views and report back to the Minister on changes that are needed to improve outcomes for children, families and communities.
Engagement
We will engage First Nations governments, community organizations, key stakeholders, experts and Yukon citizens who are invested in improving the wellbeing of our children.
Collected information
We will use the information collected to help inform our recommendations and final report. All information will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
